The Government of Canada has launched the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) in Canada.

Under this new program, starting February 16, 2026, certain Electric Vehicles (EVs) are eligible for up to $5,000 in federal incentives and certain Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) are eligible for up to $2,500 in federal incentives, for the year 2026.

Incentives will decrease over the program's five year lifespan. The program runs until March 31, 2031, or until funding is depleted. The program is administered independently by the Government of Canada and is subject to cancellation or change. For more information from the Government of Canada, read the details here.
